Medications and medical procedures:

Prescription and Over-the-Counter Medications- Prescription AND over-the-counter medications require written permission for administration in the school setting from both a healthcare provider and a parent/guardian. For prescription medications, most pharmacies can provide an extra labeled container so that a prescription can be divided and placed in a properly labeled container for school use. For over-the-counter medication, please provide the medication in the labeled box or container. If the dose or the directions change, a new form/container must be submitted. Our district does provide a limited selection of over-the-counter medications to students if parent/guardian permission is given in PowerSchool.

Medical Procedures: Medical procedures that need to be done at school, require a physician's order. If your student requires a medical procedure at school, please reach out to nurse and set up a time to talk or meet.

When to keep your child home:

Fever: temperature of 100.4 (without fever lowering medication) for 24 hrs before returning to school.

Vomiting/diarrhea: Must be without vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hrs before returning to school. Do not send your child to school if they vomited during the night or in the morning before school.

Colds/coughs: We understand that children will get sick and have the sniffles and occasional coughs. If their coughing will interfere with their learning or their classmate's learning, please keep them home to allow them to rest and get back to normal more quickly.

Extra Clothing:

Please consider sending extra clothing and underwear to school in your child's backpack. Accidents and spills happen and even though we keep extra clothing in the clinic, the supply dwindles quickly.
